The Shakespeare in a Day plays are all simplified versions of the original, rewritten in Modern Day English.
They focus on the main story lines, scenes and characters from the plays.
Each play has at least one narrator, working with a script and interjecting between dialogue and action to keep the story moving. The rest of the cast take on character roles, chorus work and individual pieces of narration. There is the opportunity for each individual to have at least one line. When not directly involved in the action the cast watch from the edge of the stage; focusing the audiences attention on the main action. Each play when performed lasts between 10 - 12 minutes. |
